This book is to educate entrepreneurs on how investors think and what they need to hear for potential investments to become reality.

Shownotes:

In this episode of the Startup Junkies Podcast, Jeff Amerine and Haley Allgood sit down with the co-founders of RevUnit, Michael Paladino and Joe Saumweber. RevUnit is a premier digital strategy and product studio helping enterprise workforces leverage technology to WorkBetter. Since founding in 2012, RevUnit has grown its team to well over 100 members and earned a reputation for delivering its best-in-class software development capabilities combined with a unique focus on employee engagement and internal productivity applications. In July, RevUnit received a significant investment from Mountaingate Capital (“Mountaingate”), a leading private equity firm based in Denver, Colorado. The strategic investment will allow RevUnit to accelerate its growth, both organically and through targeted add-on acquisitions — while staying true to the culture and unique ways of working that make RevUnit teams so successful.

Our favorite quotes:

Joe: “Eventually you get to a point in a company’s story where you either become the acquirer or you get acquired. Fortunately for us, we were able to architect a scenario with a great exit event for our team, maintain who we are, and become the acquirer through private equity.”

Michael: “You’re going to screw up. It’s going to happen. But how you treat people when you screw up makes the difference.”

Michael: “My son walked by and said ‘Dad, why is there a dancing unicorn on the screen?’ And I heard myself say ‘Peter hold on, I’m working!”

The House of Songs has become a global songwriting enterprise with Troy’s philosophy that an artist’s biggest audience may be in a foreign country.
